Upgraded Changing Places Facility
Posted on:
Have you ever wondered what a Changing Places toilet is and who uses them?
We recently completed and opened a replacement Changing Places toilet in the Trelawny Wing at Royal Cornwall Hospital as part of the Cath Lab 1 project (which is a major refurb and equipment replacement project).
RCHT patient, Logan and his mum Emily, helped us to make a film about why it’s so important that Changing Places remain open, even if they are temporarily out of supplies.
It’s an enlightening film that we hope will help everyone understand the importance of fully-accessible Changing Places toilets (with adult size change bench and washing facilities), and demonstrates the freedom they can bring to disabled people. In Emily’s own words – a “game-changer”.
