Introduction of one-way system to North Buildings and staff car parks

Posted on:

Following the Easter holiday weekend, a one-way system will come into effect at the back of the Royal Cornwall Hospital site in Truro, affecting those accessing the North Buildings, the Health and Wellbeing Innovation Centre (HWIC), and/or those wishing to use the Gravel Pit and S2 car parks. This is due to ongoing works by Cormac Ltd to create the new Northern Access Road (NAR).

NAR “Phase 3” will begin between the RCHT Helipad and Car Park 1C and will take up to 6 months. Road priorities will be changing to maintain traffic flow (and improve flow once complete).

Delays are anticipated at peak times in the morning and at the end of the standard working day for those parking in the staff Gravel Pit car park and S2, or visiting offices in this area. Users are therefore encouraged whenever possible to use the Park and Ride or other transport options during its operating hours

Once the Northern Access Road is complete (at the end of March 2026), two-way traffic out of the HWIC, Gravel Pit and S2 car parks, as well as additional access to the NAR from the Treliske industrial estate, will considerably lessen the burden on the A390 roundabout.

Apologies for the inconvenience.
