Fracture Clinic move to facilitate Cardiac Department Relocation

Posted on:

The Fracture Clinic has moved (as of Monday 23 March) from its current location in the Trelawny Outpatient Department one block up on the opposite side of the main corridor, next to the Trauma Assessment Unit (TAU) and Fracture X-Ray. Work to create a bespoke Fracture Clinic has been ongoing for several months and the reconfiguration delivers key interdependencies for TAU, the Plaster Room and X-Ray.

This move is critical to the wider Women and Children’s Hospital programme, as it forms part of a key enabling project – to move the Cardiac Department from the Link Corridor into the Outpatient Department. Work on this phase will start at the end of March.

With the Planned Care Unit and Lowen Ward already moved from the Link Corridor into their new forever homes, this last piece of the jigsaw to move the Cardiac Department then clears the way for the south side of Link Corridor to be demolished.
